Parking Task Force Update

Well, we should call this an update without an update. Neither the mayor's office or the D.C. Council have done anything on the parking issue. A task force has yet to be formed and no one is talking about when it will be. It really does appear that the churches have won. They knew what would happen if they delayed and delayed.

We still urge everyone to call or email the mayor's office and D.C. Council members.

Whatever happened with "we can file a lawsuit" to force the District to ticket equitably? Was all that just talk in the beginning?

I was one of the ones who hounded Evans to come around to take a stand for residents. His stand seems to be short-lived as his latest newsletter lists every mundane item, but has no reference to parking enforcement or any desire to push for residents' rights.
Fenty has said he was misquoted in Times article, but again, don't expect him to make much public attention to his "belief" that Logan Task Force should be implemented May 21.
